I’ve been hunting for a stunning set of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Hobbit for about 2-3 years, and for some reason the all fell a bit flat for me. And then this gorgeous hardcover set published by Harper Collins and illustrated by Alan Lee (the man who did the illustrations for the movies) was released in 2020.
I huffed and puffed, telling myself this was too extravagant and I didn’t really need this. But…. I finally decided to just TREAT. MY. SELF!
I have no regrets.
This set is stunning and they have become the more gorgeous set of books that I own. The quality of the paper, the binding of the books, the typeface, everything is exquisite.
I can now officially retire my old, mass media paperback editions I’ve had since I was in the 6th grade. They’re about 20 years old and so battered and loved. I’ll never part with them, but they need to rest.
Look at how stunning these editions are - a feast for the eyes.
