It’s here people - the last month of 2021. Can you believe it!? I don’t entirely know how to feel about this. In some ways 2021 feels like a blur and as if it was just an extension of 2020’s weirdness. I always look forward to the end of the year though - things start to slow down and I like to cozy up, relax, get a lot of reading done and reflect on my top reads of the year.
Here are the books I’ll be tackling for the remainder of 2021.
- Bleak House - I’ll be aiming to finished this chunker this month. I’m already halfway through and I think I can manage. I’m really enjoying this novel and I’m glad I decided to dive into it.
- Dracula - I was able to start my next buddy read with a friend at the end of November and so far so good. My sister is also reading this and she’s been laughing through the whole book; who knew Dracula was funny...
- Moll Flanders - Moll Flanders by, Daniel Defoe is a classic that I have not seen anyone talk about and until Alma Publishing published this gorgeous edition, I hadn’t heard of it at all. Moll Flanders was born in a prison and climbs the social ladder off her wit and beauty. There’s some pretty saucy stuff in this novel and I’m interested to see how Defoe covers these topics, given that it was first published in 1722.
